I have had a really fab afternoon.

I drove down to Portsmouth with the roof down (the first time this year) with some great music on and eventually located [livejournal.com profile] rsmsps32 and Marty. They climbed into my car and we headed off to Gun Quays Wharf. We walked round to the Spinnaker Tower and stood in the queue whilst sipping scrummy hot chocolate. We then waited for the lift. Unfortunately the outside lift wasn't working, so we had to use the inside one which ascends the 100 metres to almost the top at the rate of 4 metres per second. The view off the top was breathtaking. Portsmouth looked like a toy town. I had never seen the Isle of Wight either, so that was strange! It's amazingly near the mainland. I was amazed that we could see Chichester Cathedral and also Bognor Regis as well. The sand was shining in the sun at Bognor. It was a lovely clear day though. I loved seeing the Historic Ships as well. I love anything like this - The London Eye, camera on aeroplanes etc. I love maps and aerial photos, so it was Jussy heaven :) I didn't dare walk across the glass though which is placed in the floor at the lower level! That was too scary for me! I took loads of photos with are on Flickr. There are some of me and [livejournal.com profile] rsmsps32 in the "This is Me" folder too, but I need to sort through and decide which I like the best, and delete the rest, but not tonight!

[livejournal.com profile] rsmsps32 and I then browsed the shops very quickly as we only had about 20 mins before they shut. I got some card for revision purposes and a nice but cheap handbag. We ended up in the Cadbury's shop where I bought some Flake Moments and [livejournal.com profile] rsmsps32 and I sat outside scoffing them whilst we waited for Marty to move his van.

We then headed off on a magical mystery tour of Portsmouth. [livejournal.com profile] rsmsps32 had assured us, that she knew where she was going to find us tea. However we did a couple of detours and eventually ended up at a pub which had changed hands since she had last been, and wasn't serving food! So after a coke each and a quick check of each others msn addy lists (Becks has over 500 contacts!!!!!) we headed off to another pub. We had a really good meal there....it was a chain, but much better than many chain pubs. We also had a wonderful pudding of chocolate fudge cake and icecream with chocolate chunks in!! Yummy scrummy! Becks and Marty amused themselves playing some kind of slapping game!!

All round we had a really good day. It was fab to see [livejournal.com profile] rsmsps32 and Marty again. I had been wanting to go up the Spinnaker Tower since I last visited Gun Quays Wharf with [livejournal.com profile] noir when the Tower was being built so I am happy to have done it at last. So all round I have had a fab day and am a very happy Jussy tonight :)
