Wow! What a fab and busy and social day!!

I have been on big magical mystery tour adventures with [personal profile] felinebird followed by drinkies with [personal profile] whalefish followed by a mad Tesco dash for more drinkies which were taken back to [personal profile] felinebird's lovely flat for music and chat.

I picked [personal profile] felinebirdup about 10.30am this morning and we headed up the A3 to the London Butterfly House via Richmond and some parts of London we had never visited before. It was raining when we arrived so were glad we had picked an indoor adventure. The flutterby's were just as beautiful as last time, although there didn't seem to be quite as many as last time. [personal profile] felinebird and I spent a long time happily taking photos in the main flutterby house, and also in the tropical bird part next door. I will put the photos on Flickr tomorrow. We sat for ages and just chatted and soaked in the calmness of having flutterby's flying around us. I find them sooooo magical to watch. It was really lovely.
Eventually we decided to move! We briefly observed the ickiness of the various creepy crawlies, spiders etc. that they keep as we left the building. We took a few daffodil photos and headed over to the garden centre to get some "fine food" (as advertised) for lunch! After a lovely lunch of enormous sandwiches and cakes we wandered through the shops there, admired the lovely fish (It was weird seeing Maldivian fish in tanks instead of in the sea), took some photos (particularly of the goggled eyed goldfish) admired the various water features and headed back to the car.

It was brilliant blue sky and sunshine so the roof came down and off we went again. We headed off to Bushey Park to try and spot some deer. After much horn tooting and stress, we eventually parked (It was really busy!) and wandered across the muddy bits past the ducks and boating lake, towards the deer. We got really close and took loads of photos. However we noted that all the deer were stags, and then spotted the does over to the left of us. So we wandered over there and took more photos. By this time people were walking right in between the deer, who just didn't mind one bit!! After loads of photos and watching some random child scaring all the ducks etc. with his motor boat, we headed off past the beautiful Diana pond, past Hampton Court and into Esher. I took Lucy to see my first ever home down south. I then decided to show Lucy how to get to Wisley Gardens avoiding the A3, which led to us parking up at the very pretty Anchor pub by Pyrford Lock for drinks in the sunshine and to watch the canal boats go by. We were just debating what to do next when a text arrived from [personal profile] whalefish saying he would like to meet us for drinks in Guildford, so the next stage of our adventure began :)

So we drove down to the George Abbott pub in Guildford and made ourselves cosy in a corner. [personal profile] whalefish arrived shortly after and thus an evening of drinking, finding out more, and random chat began. We seemed to cover a huge amount of ground, including the fact that Jon can touch his nose with his tongue, and Lucy and I couldn't. We talked about Song Simon and read [profile] jennywooyay's latest post which was hilariously written and caused much laughter :) I was made to ponder when the last time I went on a public bus was (I think it was in 1992 in Manchester when I was at college) and also how many trains I had  been on in the last 14 years (2).  By the time we left just after 10, [personal profile] felinebird was showing signs of too much alcohol (despite her protestations)!! We left the pub and pondered what, if anything to do next!! The general consensus was that even if we went out own separate ways, Jon and Lucy needed more alcohol, so we headed off to Tesco's. After that we decided to head back to Lucy's Lovely Flat to have a final drink!

Despite having been outside [personal profile] felinebird's lovely flat a few times, I had never been in. It truly is a lovely flat with a fabulous balcony and loads of space. It was exceedingly tidy and neat and everything  was organised!! I played Lucy's  piano and met Cat and Bear. We all had drinks and [personal profile] whalefish demanded some embarrassing music (I can't remember the term he used) so Now 31 (or similar) was produced. The trouble is, I can remember when NTWICM was still in single figures and in tape form, not CD! That made me feel very old and the discussion was very much about our different era's of music etc. I then noticed [personal profile] felinebirds odd toes !! (I will let her tell you about them) and that led to a random discussion re odd bits of our body!! Eventually we called it a night coz Lucy and I were yawning like mad aso we sadly said goodnight and I drove [personal profile] whalefish back to Farncombe before driving on home. I was soooo hungry, that I have just cooked tea and eaten and now at 1.45am I think it is probably time for bed!!

All round it was a fabulous adventure which unfolded and I had great fun and a good laugh and all round thoroughly enjoyed myself and the company. Thanks for a fab Good Friday Lucy and Jon!

I will post all the photos probably tomorrow :D
